Broke a 18 year run, zip for me and I was out every morning but 3.  But was still a good season got a 12 year old his first gobbler, got a few newbies hooked for life, and met a couple new hunting buddies.  It's not always about the kill but the good times getting there that you remember.  There is always next year!  Now its time to focus on old Mr. Whitetail have seen some dandies on velvet already this season so this fall is already looking good.

Hey Kurt,

I haven't been online much but I was bummed to read you didn't connect with a bird yourself.  I do think you made some great memories for Rich and Matt and probably a few others.  Those will last a lifetime, and they are hooked.  Well done!

No doubt, even though it was a blank season it was one of my best I had a ton of fun and had the pleasure of hooking a few rookies for life.  It's not always the kill that makes the hunt in fact that is just a small part it's the adventures along the way that you remember the most.  Already into high gear on the whitetails i was out spotting last night and saw a few nice up and comers.

As you may already know, my 12 year old son Matt took a beautiful Tom thanks to the calling and guiding from 33Canuck!  10 inch beard and one inch spurs!  Talk about getting spoiled with your first turkey hunt ever! I found it wasn't that easy, but can't wait to get after them again next year!  I'll be practicing my calling and will be raring to go!  Looking forward to deer season and have started to shoot the bow already!  Looking forward to hunt with both new and old friends!  Keep the stories coming!!!
